Close detail of natural agarwood bracelet beads

XIES AGARWOOD

Agarwood, with its origin intact.

Cultivated Qinan agarwood — selected for its natural grain, resin character and quiet presence.

XIES / 谢家沉香

Natural agarwood. Rich in character, gentle in presence.

Natural ingredients

Our incense combines agarwood powder with a natural plant-based binder, with no added artificial fragrance or colourants. Its aromatic character comes from the agarwood itself.

Resin-rich Qinan

We focus on cultivated Qinan selected for its rich resin character. Grain, colour and resin distribution vary with the material, giving every piece its own expression.

Mellow, gently sweet

Our family describes the fragrance as sweet and mellow, with a rounded woody character. Its nuances are best explored slowly; the experience varies by piece and method of use.

Four expressions of agarwood.

Round beads, organic forms, carved pendants and incense. Explore the collection through close photographs of the material, then tell us which details speak to you.

Round-bead bracelets

A familiar form, a different grain in every bead.

Rounded silhouettes bring a quiet, balanced rhythm to the wrist. Look closely and the warm brown tones give way to fine lines and darker markings that change from bead to bead.

Choose a single strand for a simple silhouette, or explore smaller beads arranged in longer strands. Your wrist measurement and preferred bead diameter are the best starting points.

A small detail to accompany the everyday: enjoy the wood’s grain and touch while worn, or set the bracelet beside you during a quiet pause.

Freeform bracelets

An organic rhythm.

Elongated, softly irregular beads offer a different expression of agarwood. Their outlines vary, allowing the grain to run along each piece and giving the bracelet a more relaxed character.

For those drawn to the wood itself, these shapes make the changes in line and tone especially visible. Compare the full bracelet with the close details before choosing your preferred proportions.

The natural variation is part of the appeal. Elongated grains and uneven contours bring the texture of the wood into focus, whether worn alone or paired with simple clothing.

Carved pendants

Grain and carving, seen up close.

A pendant gives the grain a broader surface to unfold across. Fine linear markings meet carved motifs, while the edges and side profile reveal the thickness and shape of the piece.

Our close views show examples of different surfaces and designs. Tell us whether you prefer the grain, a particular motif or a more understated form; request front, back and side views of the available piece.

A piece to wear or contemplate at close range. The broad surface invites attention to the wood’s natural lines as much as to the carved design.

Agarwood incense

Make room for a slower moment.

For those who come to agarwood through fragrance, incense offers a different way to explore the material. The photographs show slender sticks, their texture and the ends of a bundle.

Start with how you intend to use it and the format you prefer. We can discuss the composition, dimensions, quantity and use instructions of the batch currently available.

Made with agarwood powder and a natural plant-based binder, without added artificial fragrance or colourants. Its mellow, gently sweet character suits a quiet setting for meditation, reading or a pause before or after yoga.

XIES / 谢家沉香

A family name, a shared appreciation.

XIES carries the name of the Xie family and the brand 谢家沉香. From Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, we share our family’s appreciation of agarwood with collectors and those discovering it for the first time.

We want the first encounter to feel approachable. Whether you already collect agarwood or are discovering it for the first time, the conversation starts with the piece itself: its appearance, dimensions, intended use and the questions you want answered.

Get to know agarwood

Wood, resin and a reason to look closer.

Agarwood is aromatic, resin-bearing wood, also known as oud. It is used in objects, incense and perfumery. Here, our focus is on cultivated Qinan material and the different ways it can be enjoyed.

Three ways to begin

To wear

Start with a bracelet. Share your wrist circumference and preferred bead size so we can discuss fit, proportion and the available styles.

To keep close

A pendant offers a different expression of the grain. Ask for front, back and side photographs, dimensions and details of how the piece is worn.

To explore fragrance

Start a conversation about incense. Ask about ingredients, stick dimensions, pack size and use instructions for the specific batch.

The character is in the grain.

A closer look

The character is in the grain.

Fine lines, contrasting tones and irregular edges give each piece its own appearance. These close photographs invite you to compare the surface, carving and form. Fragrance is another part of the experience—ask us about the particular material you are considering.

A little space for yourself

A quiet companion to your daily rituals.

Let fragrance mark a pause: a moment to settle, return your attention to the present and make room to unwind.

Meditation & quiet sitting

Create a simple setting for a few unhurried minutes. A subtle aromatic atmosphere can become part of your personal ritual of settling into stillness.

Before or after yoga

Pair a quiet moment with gentle stretching or the end of a session. Keep the fragrance light and the space airy, with comfort at the centre of the experience.

Reading & evening pauses

A book, a cup of tea and time without hurry. Agarwood brings a warm sensory detail to an ordinary moment, inviting a slower pace.

Use incense sparingly in a ventilated space, in a stable heat-resistant holder. Keep it away from your mat and never leave it burning unattended.

Before you choose

A few useful questions.

What does cultivated Qinan mean here?

It describes the material our family supplies from cultivated trees. We use the term to explain our source; it is not a claim that every piece has the same grade, resin content or fragrance.

Can I choose the exact piece?

Ask for current photographs and an item reference when enquiring. The website images introduce the collection; availability and the exact piece should be confirmed before any purchase.

Can a photograph establish quality?

Photographs show colour, grain and workmanship. They cannot establish fragrance, resin percentage, treatment history or authenticity on their own. Ask about the individual piece and any supporting information available.

How do I compare prices?

Compare like for like: dimensions, weight, material description, workmanship and what is included. Ask for a quote for the specific item and your delivery country, including any applicable delivery charges.

Where can you deliver?

Tell us your destination when you enquire. Availability, delivery arrangements, costs and any required documentation need to be confirmed for the item and destination.

What should I include in my first email?

The product type, your preferred size or style, an optional budget range and your delivery country. If a photograph on this website catches your eye, mention it so we can understand your preference.
